The adventures continue the following weekend at Thunder Mtn outside of Kelowna for their season opener. Although Kelowna only offers an eighth mile track, it has become our favorite place to race. The people are cool and they seem to like our whacky style as well as welcoming us as new blood that seems to be at a premium these days. Kelowna sits at a whopping 4700 feet above sea level, so if you can make your machine run good here then it will probably be about four tenths faster at sea level. We were running slightly slower compared to what our eighth mile times were in Spokane with a best of 7.74 @ 88 mph. Regardless, we got fourteen passes in over the weekend with no mechanical failure again and by our last pass you could almost see through our slicks. Eighth mile is very forgiving on parts and our engine temperature stayed as cool as a big block cucumber could. Stay tuned for more racing news and if anyone would like to join the maniacal festivities, we will be in Mission on July 30 and 31st for the Langley Loafers old time drags. This is a kick ass event that all the vintage hot rods come out of the wood work for, so see you there you big fat square.
