Thunder On The Mountain

Well another successful weekend at Thunder Mtn. Raceway. As usual success here is translated into good weather, nothing major broken and a good time had by all. The crew was small this weekend, consisting of only Gabe, Chris and myself (No Mode, Graham or peanut gallery) which by no means affected our ability to rock the house. Demonaco was under heavy scrutiny to perform after our mysterious drop in E.T.s at Mission, so we were testing lots of different factors to try and determine the problem. We were also dialing in our new adjustable mono-leaf system to accompany our Cal-Tracs and after a little tweaking we did manage to get our 60 foot time back down to where it should be in the 1.67 sort of range. The down side is that the car was kicking back a little attitude in response with the kaffing of our main power solenoid, which we bypassed, then on the last pass before eliminations the shifter jammed resulting in a pathetic 1st gear run. I can't believe how boring it is to go slow, I'm like a vampire with the sweet taste for bloody speed. Then as per usual we got knocked out in the first round. I treed the crap out of that 454 Chevelle but alas the hoodoo voodoo was in control of this one and again Demonaco slowed almost 3/10s. So it's back to the shop for a little repair and analyses to see what's up with our wild machine. Hopefully just a fried plug or something simple like that and we'll be back on our wheels in no time. The next Scheduled race for us is back at the Mtn. for their season closer on Oct. 1,2 which is always a good time and we are hoping to be accompanied by our friends and sponsor BC-DC for a little rock sensation on Saturday night. Until then it's back to the salt mines, oh did I ever mention how expensive this hobby is? If you're ever thinking of getting into drag racing head-long then I encourage lots of good sponsors and at least four kick ass partners as we have, a second mortgage would never hurt mind you.
