Who's A Pretty Girl

We had a great couple of days hammering on the race car and managed to get pretty much race-ready for this upcoming season. The motor has a fresh set of bearings in it and we did a little cleaning and a re-paint to keep things looking tight. We also cleaned up the engine compartment since we had the front clip off and gave her a little dose of semi-gloss black. You may remember a certain incident last year where we went to a national event in Mission only to get completely discriminated against by a little Nazi regime known as the NHRA tech department. Well that was a humbling experience but the upside is that we don't want anyone to ever second guess the safety of our vehicle again. After all it is their rules, not ours, so even if we happen to think everything is built to code and absolutely safe, it's really not up to us in the end. On that note, we filled every hole in our fire wall with aluminum sheet; added a regulation over flow tank to our rad and upgraded all of our fuel system with new steel braided line and (colorful and expensive) AN fittings to appease the powers that be. We also added a starter saver and a new mini-starter to the combo. Transmission refreshed and bolted back into position, we dropped the package back into it's home and flashed up the fire breathing big block for a satisfying couple of minutes. Now everything is as it should be.
Our race schedule will be announced shortly but the only change in personel will be Chris driving at Thunder Mtn this year in the points division. He will be able to make almost every race whereas my busy schedule only allows me to make a few mid-Summer Kelowna events. I will still be piloting the other events which will hopefully include an early season race in Spokane, Some Osoyoos dates and of course Mission old time drags on Aug. 1st and 2nd. I will also be organizing a street car shoot-out for this race weekend so bring you muscle cars out and see if they're worth their salt.
