Taking Home the Plaques

Another fine weekend of racing at Thunder Mtn. raceway found the crew of two wagons and two sleds taking up an entire section of pits. The big wagon ran strong under heavy right foot of "Dangerous" Chris Carlson and saw us going to the fourth round on Saturday afternoon.

The real shining star came in the form of one Graham Jones in his street driven 330 wagon. The sportsman bracket is considered the "slow car" set but it's consistency that wins races and Grahammerdown showed them all how it's done, taking first place on Saturday. Then we had a little long drive (golf now) competition to see who could keep their ball on the straight and narrow down the eighth mile. Again with his cup running over with confidence and mihr, Graham won this one as well taking home a cool $50.00.

Saturday night we played old movies like Bullet, Gone in 60 seconds and C&C Up in smoke against the side of the trailer. Sunday didn't find us nearly hungover enough but Demonaco managed to wheel to the second round before getting squashed by Terry Mcrady in his beautiful '65 Dodge. Terry ended up winning the day, not bad for an old retired dude, we can all only hope to be so lucky when we're his age. Graham came in second and took home another plaque and cheque. Big weekend for that old boy too, now it's time to fix up the body and add a new big block to that rig.
Great weekend over-all.

Next race date is scheduled for Oct. 4th in Osoyoos.
