Multi-Carb Madness!!!

Another season of full throttle action quickly approaches and since we didn't manage to blow up anything too big in the '09 season we ended up just storing the race car for the Winter and focusing on some personal projects. Chris is in the process of over doubling his shop space at Babe's Automotive; Graham is well on his way to building the ultimate sleeper out of his '63 330 wagon. (more on that later); And I've been hard at work building a couple of small motorcycles and collecting parts for my altered build. Gabe decided to get married and have a kid so we're planning on seeing him sometime around 2027 for his son's graduation.

Since we decided to shun our Winter maintenance schedule it was decided that we would treat ourselves to a serious induction upgrade. So we purchased a tunnel ram intake with two 650cfm double pumpers sitting atop from fellow racer Paul (who happens to drive a 10 second '64 Hemi Dodge). Our original carb is excellent and with 950cfm of flow it really is a fuel toilet. The problem is that we're greedy, so if one carb is good then two carbs are fantastic...right?

It doesn't hurt that it looks cool as hell sticking through the hood. We got it all hooked up yesterday with some cobbled linkage and it flashed up without hesitation and idled like a fire breathing champ. We will now have to fabricate some real linkage and plum in our regulators, braided hose and AN fittings to appease the powers that be. The Hemi scoop will also have to disappear form our fiberglass hood in lieu of an aluminum "mailbox". We also realized that there is a bunch of things on the "to-do" list that have been neglected for the past couple of years, so it's back to the shop for some more hammering and grinding.
I'll be posting something of a loose schedule soon, regardless, things are shaping up and we hope to see a few of you at the track this year.
